RedGreen Networks is based in upstate New York and operates primarily from a dedicated home office environment. We draw on more than two decades of industry experience, including John's extensive work as both an employee and contractor with AT&T. Originally founded as JC Consulting to support smaller home projects, the business evolved into RedGreen Networks in 2025 to provide dependable, practical technology solutions to a broader range of home and small business clients.
The name "RedGreen" reflects John's love of The Red Green Show, and the ".net" root domain represents the connectivity that RedGreen Networks is committed to providing. Fortunately, our solutions work, unlike the comical troubleshooting outcomes on The Red Green Show!
We provide help with any of your computer, smart device, Internet, or Wi-Fi needs, from initial setup and troubleshooting to upgrades and optimization.

Microsoft Defender is built-in to Windows 10/11 and may be sufficent for your needs. We use Bit Defender Free-Antivirus and recommend it.
Important Note: Do not run two different antivirus programs with real-time scanning active simultaneously; this can cause severe system instability. If you install a third-party antivirus, Windows Defender will automatically enter "passive mode".
You can have multiple anti-virus programs installed for manual scans.
If buying a new computer or upgrading to Windows 11 is not an option, We can help with transitioning to Linux. There are many free Linux distributions to choose from that work great on older hardware.
